Summer

The Czech Republic is an ideal country for active holiday, where you can relax as well as improve your physical condition. Thanks to the beautiful and colorful nature there are ideal conditions for tourism. It can be realized in the mountains, which surround our country, but also in the romantic valleys of our rivers. Many routes follow the borders of the republic and link up with the tourist or cyclist routes of the neighboring countries. The ones, who are not found of long walking tours, can have a walk in the forest, combined for example with picking mushrooms.

Hiking

Thanks to the diversity of landscapes the Czech Republic offers ideal conditions for walking tours. An unusual rich network of well-marked footpaths evenly covers the whole territory and disables to lose one’s way even in the remote areas of the country. Among the most popular tourist regions is Krkonoše. Walking tours fans should not miss the romantic sandstone rock “towns” in Český Ráj (Czech Paradise). Many of the marked footpaths run through the areas near the borders. Many of them cross the borders and continue in the neighbouring countries. Malý Ráy can organize a nice hiking arrangement for you. We can combine this with overnight in the open air, or navigation course.

Cycling / mountain bike

The territory of the Czech Republic has excellent conditions for the development of this active way of spending holidays. It offers diverse and picturesque landscapes, great natural beauty as well as a wealth of historic monuments that can be visited. The Czech Republic offers numerous tourist destinations. Many of them link up with the European trail network of EUROVELO
The cycling paths are marked by yellow signs bearing the number of the route. Forest paths for cyclists and many local routes are marked by colored "band" signs.

Canoeing / kayak

There are numerous places in the Czech Republic, which offer excellent conditions for various water sports. Sport equipment can be rented in local sport clubs and camping sites. Water sports have a long tradition in the CR. Both Jizera and Labe River provide excitement for everybody, from easy flowing to rough river stream.

Paragliding/hang-gliding

The beauty and variability of the Czech landscape can be seen not only from the ground, but also from the bird’s-eye view, from the board of a tourist airplane or from a balloon. The view of mountain massifs, lowlands, mirrors of water areas, the green of woods alternating picturesque villages and towns with old castles and chateaus is the best from the “bird’s perspectives”. The pilots of gliders and hang-gliders, organized in the Aviation Amateur Association of the Czech Republic, have their centres in Czech mountains, e.g. in the Krkonoše Mountains or in Beskydy, on the hills of Raná near Louny or the Kozákov Hill. Experienced instructors at the schools of paragliding and selected take-off points, who will be pleased to teach you paragliding or take you for a flight by a tandem glider.
